The Free Trade Bridge is also known as “Los Indios-Lucio Blanco Bridge”, “Puente Lucio Blanco-Los Indios”, “Puente Internacional Libre Comercio” and “Los Indios Free Trade Bridge”.

The Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios is an international border crossing located eight miles south of Harlingen and San Benito. Cameron County owns and operates the bridge; however the cities of Harlingen and San Benito each receive 25% of the net revenues. The bridge facilities are located on a 127 acre tract of land.

The Autopista that provides direct access to Monterrey has now been opened for over ten years. This gives us a direct link between the Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios and the highly industrial area of Monterrey and its suburbs. With the road improvements to Highway 99/101 which goes to Ciudad Victoria, it now makes the trip to Ciudad Victoria faster and safer. Travelers now can potentially save over four hours of travel time from the interior of Mexico to Cameron County.

In addition, Cameron County and its bridge partners, the City of Harlingen and the City of San Benito worked with DHS and the General Services Administration to build and operate a cold storage facility. This project enables products moving north through this Port of Entry to stay frozen and cold during shipment. The new refrigerated inspection facility, which has three cooled docking bays, will maintain the cold chain for produce crossing at Los Indios. The project is the first of its kind in Cameron County.

Free Trade International Bridge at Los Indios is the Port of Entry with the shortest wait times for commercial vehicles in South Texas.
